Do you find, when you modify system files in Windows 7 or Vista that you have to change permissions a lot? Then this tool is for you. This little utility will add a Take Ownership Context Menu Item to all files and folders. This menu option can be used to modify discretionary access control lists (DACLs). Or, in terms a normal person will understand, it will grant you permission to modify a file or folder.
Using the Take Ownership Extension
Download the TakeOwnership.zip file, Extract to any folder. Launch the install utility by clicking on TOwnership.exe. To install, click on the Install button. To uninstall, follow the same steps as above, but now you will have an Uninstall option in place of the Install, click on Uninstall.
