Personally, I don’t really like Registry Cleaners, but made this one on a request. While developing this Registry Cleaner, I discovered something shocking. I picked up a little problem when running the cleaner on a 64Bit Windows version. The “64Bit Bug” was caused when the program redirected between the %ProgramFiles% variable and the [Program Files] location. It would detect a file to be missing from the [Program Files (x86)] when in fact it would be located in the ‘Program Files’ directory.
After doing some searching, I discovered that this “64Bit Bug” is present in most Registry Cleaners. So, here’s the warning; Do not run any Registry Cleaners on any 64Bit Windows version. I would give you the names of the offending Registry Cleaners, but by law, I can’t. Rizone Registry Cleaner is a basic Registry Cleaner for keeping your registry neat and tidy. Since all I discovered, I’m even more careful when running a Registry Cleaner, so always backup the Registry before making any changes and check, recheck and triple check a key before deleting it. To create a Regsitry backup in Registry Cleaner, click on ‘ERUN’ and the click ‘Registry Backup’.

We just launched the Rizone Community Forum. This is a general support forum for all our freeware. Come meet new users and discuss your likes and dislikes. I think that this forum is long overdue. Well, here it is finally. Please read the basic rules below before you continue:
The following rules list the most serious violations:
- No Hacking – This should go without saying, but you are not permitted to hack the board. Guessing someone else’s password and succeeding counts as hacking. Members who hack will instantly be permanently banned without any warnings.
- No Discrimination, – You may not insult members based on their religion, race, sex, political beliefs, or whether they are gay or straight. This is worse than flaming, because it also hurts other members of the board who fall into the catagory you insult. RCF is a place where everyone is equal, and discrimination will NOT be tolerated!
- No Bullying – Do not pick on other members. The worst kind of bullying is where new members are picked on. This hurts the member as well as the board.
- No Flaming – Flaming harms the nice atmosphere of RCF. It also causes thread’s to go off topic, and most importantly, it hurts the person being flamed. The victom may defend themselves against any accusations made to them, but may not make any additional accusations to the flamer (which also counts as flaming).
- No Profanity or Obscene Content – Such content does not belong on RCF. A censor system is in place as a backup. If you see words in your post being replaced with ****, you have done something wrong. Please edit your post and tone it down before your timer runs out. To edit a post, click the “Edit” button right below it. Cheating the censor system is against the rules
ViruClean is part of a bigger project we are working on, called Inoculate Anti-Virus. ViruClean is a simple virus scanner / cleaner. In short, it looks for and cleans viruses, malware and other unwanted files from your computer. We decided to create another anti-virus, because we discovered that there is a need for a good portable anti-virus. ViruClean will not slow down your computer and can be used together with all other anti-virus systems. We even recommend you use it with your favourite anti-virus program.
Some false positives have been identified. Please make sure the file is a virus before you delete it. We will have all the false positives removed from the database on the first release. If you find false positives, please post them in this post. Just leave a comment with the file name and MD5. The MD5 will be displayed when a file is detected. We’ve tested ViruClean with Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit together with Kaspersky Antivirus and by the looks of it, it works fine. We’ve also done some testing on Windows 2000 and Windows XP. The 64Bit version of ViruClean is now included in the normal download. We’ve removed most of the false positives; don’t forget to let us know if you find more.

With this little tool, you can detect stuck or dead pixels and also repair stuck pixels. Many tools like this can be found all over the internet, but we could not find a tool with all the functions in one. So, we made one. Before we continue with what you can do with ‘Rizone Pixel Repair’, let’s start with what you can’t do (our ‘no bull’ policy). First of all, you can only attempt to repair stuck pixels and it won’t repair dead pixels. Secondly, it won’t work every time either. No miracles here boys and girls.
Now let’s get to the good part. You can use the ‘Dead pixel locator’ section on ‘Rizone Pixel Repair’ to look for dead or stuck pixels. You can also use this section to help you find dirty little spots and dust when you clean your screen (Because dust doesn’t show on all colours). Now, after you’ve located stuck pixels, try to repair them with this tool. Set the colour mode, press go and place the flashy window thingy under the stuck pixel. Sometimes this unsticks that pixel, but as stated before, not always.

Winsock, which stands for Windows Sockets API, defines how networking software should access network services. Many users come into contact with Winsock after experiencing connection problems that are usually related to Winsock. The connection problems come in a wide variety and include losing network connections, DNS lookup problems, websites becoming unavailable, limited network connections plus many more.
There are several reasons for these network issues including computer crashes, installation of networking software or malicious software attacks that tampered with network settings and Winsock. A corrupt Winsock can therefore lead to all kinds of networking troubles which are difficulty to analyze and understand for the inexperienced user. Winsock Repair can fix most Winsock errors with the push of a button. That’s obviously more comfortable than having to fix the errors manually.
Winsock Repair is a portable software program for the Windows operating system that has two primary functions. The first is to reset the TCP/IP stack which will rewrite important Windows Registry keys with their default values. The second will try to repair Winsock so that the network connectivity issues are a thing of the past. It does provide an option to list the installed LSPs (Layered Service Providers) which can be important as pre-installed LSPs might need to be reinstalled after fixing the Winsock errors.
Before you think “Not another Memory Booster / Optimizer”, Rizone Memory Booster is not just another Memory Booster. And yes, I know all software companies claim that they have the solution to never upgrading memory again. First of all, most of these companies are not totally truthful, most of them rely on the placebo effect, this is, if you think it’s going to work, it will. Also, most of them will try and optimize your system by forcing memory out of RAM. Rizone Memory Booster does not run on the placebo memory optimization engine and will not force any memory out of your ram. It will however make a Windows API call that tells Windows to clean up the workspace of all processes thus freeing up any memory, processes no longer needs (Clear Processes Working Set). It will do this periodically to help improve the speed and the stability of your system.
Keep in mind that this method will not free up a big amount of RAM, but instead will, as previously stated, improve the stability and performance of your computer. This will also cure memory leaks and in some cases has been able to unfreeze programs. Because it uses a Windows API call, you know that it’s safe to run and will not do more damage than good.

Security Restore, as the name implies, will simply attempt to restore your computer to the default security settings. This is useful for when you get, ‘You don’t have permission to… blah, blah, blah’ errors, while installing programs or updating stuff. It will also attempt to repair the dreaded 0×80070005 error messages when trying to register dll files while installing certain Windows components or programs. Sometimes you will not get this specific error number, but just an Installation Failed message. This tool will in most cases also repair these errors, for example: Internet Explorer 7 installation failure and permission errors while installing BitDefender AntiVirus.
This should only be used when you actually have something wrong with your computer. This will normally be after a virus attack and you are trying to register components, for example: when you try and update a Windows installation. Also, when you try to install a AntiVirus program after virus removal and you keep on receiving permission errors. This utility replaces the popular Rizone 0×80070005 FIX.
Rizone CD-DVD Repair is a small utility that will repair Windows if your CD or DVD drive is missing or not recognized by Windows or other programs. Apart form the basic functionality it also allows resetting of Autorun settings and protection against Autorun parasites(virus).
The former lets you repair the Autoplay/Autorun settings if for some reason it fails to work, while the latter provides protection against Autorun virus by disabling the Autorun feature for removable drives. In Windows 7 it will disable autorun for non-Volume devices to protect against viruses, since Microsoft have permanently disabled autorun.inf for removable drives. Use the first option only if Autorun fails to work.
MD5 Checksum Calculator was designed to be a small freeware utility for calculating the MD5 (Message Digest number 5) checksum values of specified files.
The algorithm takes as input a message of arbitrary length and produces as output a 128 bit (16 byte) “fingerprint” of the input (also known as a “message digest”, “checksum” or “hash”). It is conjectured that it is computationally infeasible to produce two messages having the same message digest, or to produce any message having a given prespecified target message digest.

Do you find, when you modify system files in Windows 7 or Vista that you have to change permissions a lot? Then this tool is for you. This little utility will add a Take Ownership Context Menu Item to all files and folders. This menu option can be used to modify discretionary access control lists (DACLs). Or, in terms a normal person will understand, it will grant you permission to modify a file or folder.
Using the Take Ownership Extension
Download the TakeOwnership.zip file, Extract to any folder. Launch the install utility by clicking on TOwnership.exe. To install, click on the Install button. To uninstall, follow the same steps as above, but now you will have an Uninstall option in place of the Install, click on Uninstall.
The computer POST (Power On Self Test) tests the computer, insuring that it meets the necessary system requirements and that all hardware is working properly before starting the remainder of the boot process. If the computer passes the POST, the computer will have a single beep (with some computer BIOS manufacturers it may beep twice) as the computer starts and it will continue to start normally. However, if the computer fails the POST, the computer will either not beep at all or will generate a beep code, which tells the user the source of the problem. This little utility will help you to lookup these beep codes and figure out what they represent.

Now and then, just for some peace of mind, I like to do a System File Scan in Windows XP (SFC /SCANNOW). SFC will ask for my Windows XP installation CD like normal. After inserting the CD, sometimes, I will get a “The CD you provided is the wrong CD.” error. You will receive this error if you installed or removed a Hard Drive or CD-ROM and Windows changed the drive letters. The setup paths will then point to the wrong location. Not the only reason for this error, but the most common one.
Yes, I could go to my Registry and manually correct my setup paths, but why not just create a little tool to do this for me automatically. And “Setup Sources” was born. You can use Setup Sources to correct your setup paths easily. Try copying the Windows XP Installation file (everything on the CD) to a directory on your computer and configure your setup paths to point to this directory. This will make life a little easier, especially if you love running SFC.
